Sakana AI Announces Strategic Partnership with Google
Following our Series B round, we are excited to announce that we have entered into a strategic partnership with Google. We are also delighted to announce that Google is making a financial investment in Sakana AI, to further strengthen our partnership.
This partnership underscores Google’s recognition of our technical depth and bold mission to advance AI in Japan, validating our unique ability to tackle complex industrial and scientific challenges. Through this partnership, we are excited to collaborate with Google to enhance AI product quality and implement reliable AI solutions in mission-critical industries.
Key Highlights of Our Partnership
By combining Google’s world-class infrastructure and products with our agile R&D capabilities and deep connection with Japan, we aim to advance Japan’s AI ecosystem and drive the widespread adoption of reliable AI.
We will work together with Google to focus on the following key areas:
- Accelerating Innovation with Google’s State-of-the-Art Models We will leverage Google’s state-of-the-art models, including Gemini and Gemma, to build our technologies and products. Our existing breakthroughs, such as The AI Scientist and our ALE-Agent, have already demonstrated the power of utilizing these models, and we look forward to further pushing the limits of frontier models. This partnership allows us to push the boundaries of automated scientific discovery and agentic AI even further by deeply integrating Google’s model ecosystem into our R&D.
- Enhancing AI Product Quality Drawing on the on-the-ground insights and technical expertise we gain from serving our users, we will provide direct feedback on Google’s AI ecosystem.
- Deploying Reliable AI in Mission-Critical Industries For regulated sectors requiring the highest levels of security and data sovereignty—such as financial institutions and government organizations—we will deploy solutions utilizing Google’s platform to promote AI adoption.
