About RSI Lab
Sakana AI Recursive Self-Improvement (RSI) Lab は、AIの開発プロセスそのものを設計し直すことを担う専任の研究グループです。CEOのDavid Haと直接連携しながら、次のフロンティアAIのアーキテクチャを構築しています。RSI Labでは、とりわけ研究サイエンティストとソフトウェアエンジニアの二つのポジションを中心にチームを立ち上げています。
Role Overview
RSI Labの研究活動を支えるプログラムマネージャーを募集します。トップクラスの研究者・エンジニアが研究に専念できるよう、スケジュール管理・対外コミュニケーション・予算管理を含む研究オペレーション全般を担っていただきます。研究者と対等に技術的な会話ができる方と、社内外のステークホルダーを動かす実行力を兼ね備えた方を求めています。
What You Will Do
- RSI Labの研究プロジェクトについて、スケジュール管理・進行管理・予算管理を担い、研究者が研究に専念できる体制を構築する
- 研究の進捗・成果を技術的に理解し、研究者と直接対話しながら計画と実態のギャップを把握・調整する
- 社外パートナーとの窓口業務を含む、対外コミュニケーションを担当する
- 研究チームの採用・オンボーディングに関わる社内プロセスを推進する
- CEOおよびリーダーシップチームに対し、プロジェクトの状況を定期的に報告する
Who We Are Looking For
- AI/ML分野の研究内容を理解し、リサーチャーと技術的な会話ができる方(自身での研究実施は必須ではありません)
- 国際的なチーム環境で、日本語・英語の両方を使って業務を進められる方(折衝・文書作成含む)
- 予算管理・プロジェクトマネジメント・対外折衝のいずれかの実務経験
- 複数のステークホルダーが関わる複雑な環境での調整経験がある方は歓迎

The Sakana AI Recursive Self-Improvement (RSI) Lab is a dedicated research group within Sakana AI, tasked with redesigning the AI development process itself with AI. By transitioning from static, human-led R&D to autonomous, self-improving intelligence engines, we are turning constraints into our greatest compounding advantage. We are building the definitive architecture for the next frontier of AI. The Lab is actively scaling both research and engineering resources at our Tokyo headquarters, seeking exceptional, highly driven individuals to join us across two core profiles: Frontier Research Scientists and Advanced Core Engineers.
Sakana AI’s RSI Research
Role Overview
We are looking for a Program Manager to support the research operations of RSI Lab. As the Lab scales its research and engineering resources to engineer the next great leap in computational intelligence, this role covers budget management, schedule management, and external communications, ensuring our researchers and engineers can focus fully on research at maximum velocity. We’re looking for someone who can hold their own in technical conversations with researchers, while also driving execution across internal and external stakeholders.
What You Will Do
- Own budget management, schedule management, and progress tracking across RSI Lab’s research projects, building a structure that lets researchers stay focused on research
- Understand research progress and outcomes at a technical level, working directly with researchers to identify and close gaps between plan and reality
- Serve as a point of contact for external partners, including relevant communications
- Drive internal processes related to hiring and onboarding for the research team
- Report project status regularly to the CEO and leadership team
Who We Are Looking For
- Understands AI/ML research content well enough to have technical conversations with researchers (hands-on research experience not required)
- Comfortable working collaboratively within an international team using both Japanese and English, including negotiation and document production in both languages
- Experience in budget management, project management, or external negotiation
- Experience coordinating in complex environments involving multiple stakeholders is a plus
